It doesn't have to be like this!

I know exactly what JOB and debt and worry and the 'night devils' feel like because I had twenty years of it and it took me that long to finally realise that none of these things have to be. These things happen to people - good people, worthy people - because they never knew any better. There IS something better. Irrespective of your current situation, or education, or age or colour or sex or 'talent' or any of those things most people take as read, it is perfectly possible for 'Joe Average' to live a hugely different life - a life in which YOU make ALL the rules. You decide what you earn, you decide how much of your time you are prepared to use up in order to earn it. You decide where you live, what you drive and not only where to go on vacation but whether you're going business class or first class. Cattle class is no longer an option. Life does not have to be slavery with vacations. It becomes a vacation - full stop. 

The way I now do business has taken me 20 years to perfect, but at last I am comfortable with my ‘day job’, a job that completes the dream. Simple, uncomplicated, not work but fun. Challenging, because I need a challenge, and yet without obstacles. Obscenely profitable, one month’s work can set you up for the year or just go ahead and make a million - your call. Like the Honda ad, it just works. Some serious gurus in their own right go open-mouthed when I tell them what this is about, how much money it can generate and how stunningly obvious it is.

Can anyone do it? No. Some people are not cut out for this. Everyone can understand it because it’s so simple, but doing it requires you to be reasonably happy with the written word, have enough knowledge to set up a two page website and have enough belief in yourself – focus, motivation, belief - the three X-factors of success. I can help you with that too, but that's for later.

I’m talking about a simple system that virtually everyone has overlooked or done badly. It’s a perfect example of one man thinking outside the box and suddenly seeing an ocean of opportunity that is so huge, so obvious, so phenomenally powerful that it has the potential to change your life around. Although it might be categorised as Internet Marketing, it isn't, because you hardly do any marketing. I leave that to the experts.

It’s totally revolutionized my thinking and methods to the point where I’m not only doing this, but have staked the rest of my business life on it. I now do nothing else other than ‘it’, or showing ‘a few people’ how it’s done. Furthermore, the principle of this is so obvious, my dog Dexter could understand it.  

Why does everyone make things so complicated?

I’m not really that bright. Ask anyone in my family. This page was written by someone who failed his 11+ exam back in 1962 and then failed his O Level English examination a few years later. 

I avoid tournaments or quizzes or anything that involves adding up numbers because I’m lousy at maths. I have a hint of dyslexia – I read … real … slow, and I stutter and stall when speaking unless I've rehearsed it a hundred times. So I can't read, can't write, can't add up and can't talk down a two way radio. And yet I do all of these things well enough to have a pleasant life. So can you.

Like most males I don’t multi-task; I like one thing at a time and above all I need to keep it simple. The only reason I have some best-selling books is because they’re full of really simple stuff and I write them really…really…slowly. So when I say many people could do this what I’m really saying that if I can do it, most people can. In fact I love being a thicko, I often point it out in my blogs. Thickos can still win – big time. My home is surrounded by genuinely clever people, lawyers mainly. I bought my home from a doctor. I am none of these these things but enjoy the same if not better rewards. No-one really knows what I do. I don’t join in the morning traffic jam. I am not in the box. 

Years ago when I was out in the cold – unemployed, having not only lost my job but my entire profession, (now that’s talent!) and with no usable qualifications, I turned to ‘home business’ as my only hope. Then the world wide web started up and I could see the opportunities in it BUT – everything was so complicated! Everything seemed so strange and confusing, and the more confused I got the more depressed I became. I didn’t mind work – I just needed uncomplicated work.  

Here’s an example. I have on my computer an eBook on how to create Google Adwords – y’know, those ‘sponsored ads’ down the right hand side of every Google page. This book is over 200 pages long! I understood about 12 pages of it and after that I was hopelessly lost in a maze of statistics – check this, analyse that, do the other, stick-yer-finger-in-yer-ear-and-blow-raspberries-with-one-foot-in-a-bucket, and heaven knows what else. I’m a simple man, I must have simple solutions. If I need a university degree in Google Adwords then I just can’t do it. I’ll prove it to you. None of my web pages have Google Adsence on them. Not this one, not any, and the reason is simple – I haven’t a clue how to do it! I’ve tried to read up on it but after ten minutes I doze off.

It has always seemed to me that people selling ‘solutions’ either haven’t a clue what they are talking about (and hide that fact in a morass of complications), or deliberately make those solutions highly complex and confusing – possibly to keep us hooked on their next ‘even simpler’ solution. (Me, a cynic – never!)

Simple, Uncomplicated and Quick

Let me say this right now. I can explain my entire system to you in one paragraph. In fact I just did further up in the video. The rest is detail. But the detail is logical and straight forward. Costs are pathetically small – domain names, web hosts, that sort of thing. Your product is free and, from the framework, can be finished in 48 hours. No Adwords, no search-engine-optimisation and no mucking about trying to get into the top of search engines. Marketing consists of sending a book to one person. If it doesn’t work, send the book to person #2. If the project doesn’t work, and some don’t, it’s cost peanuts and a little time. But when it works, you’ll make a hundred grand or more, virtually overnight. And boy, can it work …

I’m used to quite reasonable amounts appearing in my account, but when this idea first worked for me I was stunned. In fact I was scared stiff. Orders were coming in so thick and fast our normal accounts system couldn’t cope. We were running around like headless chickens trying to keep pace with it. Our problem was that the system we were using then wasn’t fully automated, and we were being buried under the weight of orders coming in. After day two (this happened over a weekend) we committed an act of internet heresy. We turned off the website.

Please - just think about this for a minute. Every day you are bombarded with emails or mailshots from people offering you solutions that ‘drive people to your site’, solutions that usually occupy 24 DVDs, ten manuals and more notes than an Open University course on Advanced Theoretical Physics. Or special events where a dozen ‘leading experts’ reveal the secrets of all the bells, whistles and gizmos they use to ‘drive people to their sites’, all of which have been cunningly hidden inside 24 DVDs and ten manuals and on special offer for only $27million if you buy today.

Meanwhile some clown in Cheshire TURNS OFF a perfectly good website that was creating a thousand sales a day, and all he’d done to achieve this was to send someone a book! They’d call me psychotic! (No change there then…)

The fact is that any changes I have made to my eBook system are based only on finding alternative ways of doing things. I don't use software, gadgets or gizmos. I use psychology, and that never changes.
